The classical guitar took shape in Spain during the 16th century, and Antonio de Torres Jurado’s 19th-century innovations standardized its design. The 20th century saw the birth of the electric guitar, revolutionizing music with amplified sound and  new genres. 

Technological advancements have continually enhanced the  guitar’s versatility and creativity. Amplification and gain enabled  expressive distortion, while effects pedals introduced new sonic  dimensions with fuzz, reverb, delay, and modulation. Digital  tools and software have further expanded the guitar’s potential,  making sound design accessible to all musicians. Add-ons like  pickups, capos, and tremolo systems, along with tools like  slides and picks, have provided players with even more ways to  innovate.
